Reflection 1
As a new entrant into the field of teaching, I was particularly interested in exploring technology as a tool for teaching and learning. On the first day, we were introduced to various educational technologies, many of which I was previously unaware of. A key focus was on creating interactive lessons using Nearpod, a highly effective platform that enables educators to design engaging tutorials to enhance the learning experience.
This was my first exposure to such a tool, and it significantly broadened my understanding of how technology can make learning more interactive. In my teaching experience so far, I had not considered using technology to create engaging learning environments. This newfound knowledge has transformed my perspective and will greatly influence my approach to student engagement, particularly in my absence, as well as in promoting self-paced learning. Until now, my teaching relied primarily on face-to-face interactions, which I now recognize as having limitations, such as reduced opportunities for students to reflect and process information. Nearpod will undoubtedly become an integral part of my teaching practices moving forward.
As part of the assignment, I had the opportunity to develop an interactive lesson on a topic from one of the modules I teach. I selected the "Transportation Problem" from the Operations Research module. The lesson can be accessed through the following link: 👉Nearpod Lesson. You are welcome to go through it at your convenience.
